Many great swims, plenty of personal bests, and three medals on day one of the Munster LC Championship in Limerick!

Ten Clonmel Swimming Club seniors and six U14 swimmers competed at the demanding Munster Long Course Championship at the UL Arena in Limerick.

The event was divided into Youth & Senior (15yr+) and Age Group (11-14yr) categories. In the morning, the older swimmers competed in preliminations, followed by the younger ones in session 2. The top ten from the prelims advanced to the finals, which took place on the same day starting at 5 PM.

Our U14 boys’ relay team, represented by Sean Kelly, Ethan Hanrahan, Toby Hayes, and Owen Killen, finished fourth in their demanding race.

Male finalists at the event included Owen Killen, Killian Whelan, David Killen, Ethan Hanrahan, Garry Hanrahan, and Sean Kelly, with Garry winning a bronze medal in the 200m IM with a time of 2:32.49.

Four females from our club, Blaithnaid Keane, Caroline Smith, Victoria Szyszkowska, and Jenna Hayes, progressed to the finals, where Caroline won a gold medal in the 50m Free with a time of 29.12 and Victoria winning a silver medal in the 200m Fly with a time of 3:10.38.

Congratulations to all swimmers!
