Tipperary swimmers notched up 36 top 10 finishes as Aspiring Champions Meet.

On Sunday last Clonmel Swimming Club brought 33 competitors to the UL Sports Arena to participate in the Munster Aspiring Champions Gala Session 1. More than 500 swimmers from around the province turned up to compete in 15 events for the Munster categories from 13 through to 17 and over. Clonmel swimmers performed brilliantly and brought home many personal bests, while notching up 36 top 10 finishes in various stroke disciplines and age categories.

Within these top tens, the club had three exceptional performances from Victoria Szyszkowska in the Girls’ 200 Metres Fly, Sean Kelly in the Boys 50 Metres Freestyle and Gary Hanrahan in the Boys’ 100 Metres Fly. So all in all it was a great day’s work by all who took part and now they are looking forward to the next rounds.
