Last weekend we saw some of our swimmers take on a different challenge. Donal, Killian, David, Jenna, Isabelle, Anna and Eibhlis took part in the Gaelforce Great Fjord Swim event in Mayo. Competitors were brought out in a boat to the start line in the middle of Killary Harbour and raced over either 750m, 2km or 3.9km to the shore.
In the 750m race our girls had a brillian result. Jenna, Isabelle and Eibhlis were 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the female category. (There was actually only one man faster than them) Anna was the 1st female Junior home.
David led the 2km from start to finish and in a very exciting sprint at the end was 1st across the line. Donal was 4th in that race and Killian was the 1st male Junior home.
Lots of fun afterwards including the Bog Obstacle Course the next day at Delphi Adventure Centre.
