What an absolutely thrilling week it was for the swimmers from the Clonmel Swimming Club at the Irish National Age Group Championship in UL from July 6 to July 9.

Amidst the fierce competition of over 100 clubs battling for national titles and top club accolades in the new age group format (12-14-year- olds), the team shone brilliantly. We couldn’t be prouder of the athletes, dedicated coaches and officials who made this journey unforgettable.

The determination and hard work of our club swimmers Sean Kelly, Harry Weymouth, Ethan Hanrahan, Owen Killen, Caroline Smith and Victoria Szyszkowska led them to secure their spots in this prestigious event. They showcased their skills and made their mark in the competition with each stroke they took.

At the event, Ethan qualified for the 200m backstroke and 200m breaststroke finals. Caroline qualified for the 50m freestyle final and Victoria qualified for the 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley finals, in which she achieved a new club record. Victoria also received three Certificates of Recognition for her exceptional time improvements in the 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and the 400m individual medley.
