Strong Start for Clonmel Swimming Club at UL Arena

Day 1 at UL Arena in Limerick was a big success for Clonmel Swimming Club, with six women and ten men competing against nearly 700 swimmers. It was a busy day in the pool, with plenty of solid performances, personal bests, and some well-earned medals.

Caroline Smith picked up a bronze in the 100m breaststroke, while Victoria Szyszkowska took silver in the same event and added another silver in the 100m butterfly. Cian Ryan also made it onto the podium twice, winning bronze in both the 100m breaststroke and 50m backstroke.

Sean Kelly put in a strong swim to take silver in the 50m backstroke, and Owen Killen rounded off the medal tally with a bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Aside from the medals, plenty of swimmers hit personal bests, making it a great start to the competition. Another big day ahead tomorrow!
