The Complaints and Disciplinary (C&D) committee is an independent statutory body within the club, set up and run in detailed accordance with Swim Ireland rules and provisions.
The purpose of the C&D committee is to provide an independent authority within the club to adjudicate in disputes or to investigate complaints raised by or on behalf of a club member.
There are very precise rules and processes which must be followed by the C&D committee
The procedure for raising a complaint or referring an issue to the C&D committee can be found at the following location on the Swim Ireland website
Sometimes it can be difficult to determine whether an issue or a complaint should be raised – or escalated to the C&D committee. In such cases it is always better to err on the side of caution and to share your concerns with the chair or secretary of the club who will ensure procedure is followed. If the matter is not being progressed appropriately or in exceptional cases it is important to escalate directly to the C&D.
