On the 15th of October 2024, the Loreto Secondary School Clonmel swim team competed at the Loreto Inter-Schools Swimming Gala, held at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin. The event was a great success for the team, with several standout performances.

In the U14 category, Sarah Kehoe competed in the 50m breaststroke final, while Niamh Meredith represented the school in the U16 50m freestyle final. Lucy O’Mahony showcased her skills in the 50m butterfly final. All three swimmers made their school proud with strong performances.

Victoria Szyszkowska took first place in the 50m breaststroke final, winning the gold medal. Her achievement was celebrated by her teammates and the school, marking an impressive performance in a highly competitive field.

The U16 freestyle relay team, consisting of Lucy O’Mahony, Victoria Szyszkowska, Niamh Meredith, and Nicole Richter, finished second in their race, displaying excellent teamwork and determination.

The team received plenty of support from classmates, supporters and teachers who traveled to Dublin to cheer them on. Overall, it was a fantastic day for Loreto Secondary School Clonmel, with the swimmers delivering solid performances and achieving many PB’s.
